Yunjung Lee is a choreographer who works with the materiality of the body as a choreographic language at the intersection of society and art. Rather than treating the body as a tool for expression, she approaches it as a site and condition where choreography emerges, attending to subtle changes and relationships that occur within, outside, and in between bodies. Her work asks how invisible or vulnerable forms of existence can be perceived, and how different beings might resonate and coexist. Through choreographic scores, she gives form to bodily events that often remain unnoticed, extending her exploration of the body toward overlooked beings in society and non-human life.
